About PAC
PAC opened its doors back in 1976, in the
days when 8-track players and CB radios were the hottest craze
on the market. Since then, PAC has evolved into a mobile electronics
interface specialist, dedicated to providing car audio retailers
and distributors with the interface accessories needed to satisfy
the most demanding retail customer. PAC has built a rock solid
name for itself and continues to manufacture the highest quality
products in the industry.
Unlike other manufacturers that hire outside Engineer's, PAC researches
and develops its products in-house by engineers who have experience
in the manufacturing arena of vehicles and mobile electronics installation
experience. Currently, several of PAC's employees have many years of experience in the installation
industry before
joining PAC. With all that knowledge and wish list bottled up, PAC
has opened up the bottle and now knows what you,
the installer, really need. With the combined knowledge, PAC designs
products with the everyday installer in mind.
The SWI-2, the very first steering wheel audio control
interface for GM vehicles, was designed in 1996 and since then,
has evolved to 4 more interfaces for the different makes of vehicles.
The design has been taken further by combining all 5 interfaces
into one unit, the SWI-X Universal Steering Wheel
Radio Control Interface.
In 2002, PAC won Best of Innovations 2002 for
the SWI-V Steering
Wheel Video Control Interface, which is based off the SWI-X.
In 2003, PAC wins Best of Innovations 2003 for
the AAI-GM9 auxiliary
audio input and the SK1 shift knob radio controller.
